The White Mountains are home to some of the worst weather in the world. Not a place you want to be above tree line unless you’re decked out in Gortex. On this extremely rare day, there was no wind or rain, and visibility for miles. I came back and climbed the same mountain 4 months later in winter, and it was 10 below, 100 mph winds, and less than 20 feet of visibility. This massive railroad track was also buried beneath 30 feet of snow.
